Quote of the week - 04/07/09

After visiting London for the G-20 and Strasbourg for NATO Summit, President Obama is now in Turkey. Last week, he took time to express his point of view about Turkey membership request in the European Union to the European leaders.

He said: “Moving forward towards Turkish membership in the EU would be an important signal of your commitment to this agenda and ensure that we continue to anchor Turkey firmly in Europe.”

Some European leaders and first o them President Sarkozy don’t really accept that Obama care about that. For them, US are not a membership, so this decision doesn’t depend on it. Turkey is now a privileged partnership for EU.
